Voices of the Youth's Ride & Grub with Urban Triage

Earlier this month we helped out with Urban Triage's Voices of the Youth’s Ride & Grub! We gave out 20 bikes along with helmets, locks + bike registration stickers! Thanks to Urban Triage and Unique Butler for continuing to focus on & support the BLACK YOUTH in Madison!!!!

Thank you to Madison BCycle, The BikeMobile, Tri 4 Schools South Central Wisconsin, Freewheel Community Bike Shop, Bloom Bake Shop, Down with Bikes, The Madison Community Mobile Bike Shop, Black Saddle Bike Shop, The Cargo Bike Shop, Planet Bike, & Allies for Black Lives - Madison for supporting this ride too!

Wheels for Winners is back!

We are reopening on Monday, June 22nd! We fully understand that it may not be easy to find volunteer opportunities that would help earn a bike with our organization. That is why we are committed to flexibility with our requirements for earning bikes. If you know someone who needs a bike, contact us to see what we can do to get them on a bike—even if they may not have met the 15 hours of volunteer service requirement.

We will also be following new procedures to protect the health of our volunteers and our visitors. Please view the video demonstrating our COVID19 policies in action.  Our volunteer mechanics will be wearing masks and following other practices such as frequent hand sanitizing. For your safety and ours, we are also asking that all visitors do the following:

  • If it all possible, use our contact page or give us a call to schedule an appointment to come to the shop.

  • Practice social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet from any visitor or staff member where possible.

  • Bring a face mask when coming to the shop. If you don't have one, we can provide a disposal mask.

  • Be prepared to interact with our Wheels for Winners volunteers outside the shop.

  • If circumstances warrant, only one bike earner or other visitor may enter the shop.

  • Please make your own adjustments to properly fit helmets.

We look forward to welcoming you back and continuing the work of providing bikes and repairing bikes for those that want to ride.
